I agree with the independence part, and yes it does seem like he's trying to make money for himself.


What kind of alternative energy would be sustainable in the US? As in, one that's consistent with our economy?

Right now OPEC has decided to cut oil production witch will cause gas prices to go up. So for right now my idea is to start drilling off of Alaska and California so that the futures market will make gas go down and balance price. This will hold the US for another couple of years of low cost gas.

 

In the meantime I don't know of any cost efficient alternative energy. Due to the conservation of energy the source will always become depleted after sometime.

This guy Pickens thought that it would be a great idea to move our oil dependence to be natural gas.

I found a couple problems with this. First Natural gas is a biproduct of pumping up oil, so it really dosen't makes us independent. And two, Pickens owns some of the biggest natural gas pumps in america. seems like he is just out to make a buck off of the ignorant people whom belive is plan will solve problems.

or we could just use wind power
